Juliette Laboria

A fan of fairy tales, fantasy stories, and poetry, Juliette Laboria studied animation for five years at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. There, she explored the shifting boundaries between reality and imagination through writing and vividly colored still and animated images. Her favorite subjects are summer, childhood, and dreamlike worlds, with life in all its forms playing a central role.
Today she works in both animation and illustration.
In her free time, she keeps a sketchbook that she enriches with candid portraits and scenes from life. She seeks to transcribe the small details of everyday life, blended into the landscape but nevertheless filled with meaning and importance, and to convey the feeling of materials, skin, warmth, light, and softness.
