Fragments Studio is a house dedicated to the creation and distribution of art wooden puzzles, entirely made in France. We work closely with committed contemporary artists, with the aim of making their works known while reinventing the puzzle experience.
Our mission goes beyond simple entertainment: we want to offer our customers a real break of calm and disconnection, alone or accompanied. The puzzle becomes a moment of sharing, whether it is a peaceful evening with friends, a special moment with a loved one or a personal artistic exploration, accompanied by a good tea and soothing background music.

The origin of puzzles
Jigsaw puzzles originated in England in the 1760s as an educational tool for learning geography. The first model, made from a map glued to mahogany wood, was hand-cut along geographical boundaries. The themes quickly diversified with fun and educational subjects, using manual cutting.
From the end of the 19th century, the arrival of electric saws perfected this artisanal technique. Puzzles then became a popular pastime among high society, particularly in the United States, before becoming established in France thanks to the Russian aristocracy in exile.
The art of craft cutting
At Fragments Studio, our artisan cutters perpetuate a traditional skill. Each puzzle piece is unique, designed to offer a real challenge. The cutting follows the nuances and patterns of the original work, creating puzzles three times more difficult than standard cardboard models.
As Georges Perec described in La Vie mode d'emploi , "the difficulty of a puzzle lies not in the image but in the subtlety of its cutting." It is precisely this artisanal care that gives our puzzles their exceptional character and their ability to captivate the most demanding enthusiasts.

Our adult puzzles are presented in carefully designed boxes, both luxurious and environmentally friendly. Each box contains a reproduction of the work and a description, allowing you to learn more about the artist or the history of the painting. The children's puzzles, just as carefully, are offered in playful and attractive packaging.

Our puzzles are entirely designed in our workshops in Burgundy and Paris. This local choice reflects our commitment to quality craftsmanship and environmentally friendly manufacturing. Each puzzle piece is cut by hand, guaranteeing a unique and authentic experience.

For those who love big challenges, our “Les Persévérents” collection offers puzzles ranging from 900 to 5,000 pieces. Intended for seasoned enthusiasts, this range tests patience and skill. Club members benefit from exclusive access to our new products and limited editions.
